Politeness earmarks a gentleman, and graciousness presupposes a lady. Men, embrace the former; and all you women everywhere, practice the latter.
As for your interest in manners, let it climb above the academic, and never rest in that which is superficial, but always strive to please GOD, and that, in all things: this is safe ground to rest upon.
Because “young bodies are like tender plants, which grow and become hardened into whatever shape you have trained them” (Erasmus): accustom your children to good manners and polite etiquettes.
A rude nation presupposes rude homes.
